LITERATURE PROJECT MONTAGE
experimental recording and post-production of various
multi-lingual literature, read by Dan Veksler

Dan Veksler was born in the Soviet Union, and immigrated to the United States as a child, in a family of political refugees. The founder of Russian Musical Psychology, Flaviy Vasilyevich Sokolov, predicted in utero that Dan would be a musician. When he was three years old, Dan found out his family's record player didn't work because it needed a needle, so he destroyed almost all of their records, trying to play them by scratching them in an inward spiral with his mother's sewing needle. When he was eleven, already living in Salem, Massachusetts, he connected several cassette decks in series, successfully inventing multi-tracking, not realizing it already existed. Dan started writing and recording original music at the age of ten.
Dan studied History at BU, before receiving a musical degree from New York University, and lives in New York City. He has been an actor, an electrician, a session musician, a mail carrier, a knife salesman, a gardener, a record producer, a satellite radio broadcast engineer, and a composer for stage and screen. He speaks several languages, has many diverse interests, and is a true entrepreneur.
